John Lundstram agrees details to exit Rangers in new transfer

John Lundstram has reached an agreement on the main issues to join Trabzonspor from Rangers, with only the down payment and signing-on fee left to negotiate, according to 61 Trabzonhaber.

The Turkish news outlet reported on 24 April that, having not yet accepted the offer of a new contract at Ibrox, Lundstram and his agent met with Trabzonspor to negotiate a deal.

It is said that “a lot of progress” has been made towards his exit with only two remaining hurdles to overcome with negotiations continuing.

John Lundstram could leave Rangers to join Trabzonspor

Lundstram’s form at Ibrox this season has led to a clamour from both fans and pundits to see him rewarded with a new deal, but interest from Turkey could throw a spanner in the works with the decision resting with the midfielder.

Chris Jack recently explained that both Rangers and Philippe Clement remain keen to tie him down to a new deal despite the interest from Trabzonspor, with a contract still on the table, but the offer from Turkey could be more lucrative.

It has been suggested that the midfielder will need to weigh up what he wants to do at this stage of his career – whether he wants a last big payday from his deal, or to remain in Glasgow and compete for trophies under Clement.

Rangers

It has been made clear in recent weeks that the intention for Rangers is to get him tied down to a new contract, with both the player and the club keen to get it done, but a more lucrative offer may prove tempting.
