Rangers want Abdallah Sima permanent deal with Brighton as ‘financial package’ update emerges

Rangers want to sign Brighton winger Abdallah Sima permanently after his successful loan this season, according to talkSPORT.

Writing on their website (22 April), the radio station reports that the Senegal star has impressed at Ibrox this season and the club want to keep him beyond the end of the season.

Rangers are open to a permanent deal for the 22-year-old but only if an “acceptable financial package” can be agreed with the Seagulls, who paid £6m to sign him in 2021 from Slavia Prague.

Rangers must be sensible with Abdallah Sima transfer wish

Obviously everyone at Ibrox will want Sima to stay in the squad beyond this season, because his performances have been nothing short of excellent.

Sima has managed to score 16 goals this season, a tally only bettered by James Tavernier and Cyriel Dessers despite missing two months of the season with injury.

But the likelihood of Brighton agreeing to sell him on the cheap to Rangers after such a successful loan spell is slim, and that means the club have to think carefully about it.

If they agree to spend that sum the squad isn’t necessarily moving forward, but they will lose a big chunk of their budget for the window which could cause Philippe Clement problems.

But ultimately the manager has to be backed and if Sima is a player he wants at Ibrox next season, then the board must do what they can to ensure he isn’t let down.
