Rangers: Abdallah Sima breaks silence after Hampden injury v Hearts in new fitness hint

Rangers forward Abdallah Sima has broken his silence following his injury in the Light Blues’ Scottish Cup win over Hearts at Hampden Park.

The Gers booked their place in the final against Celtic with a 2-0 win on Sunday (21 April) with a brace from Cyriel Dessers either side of halftime ensuring slim hopes of a domestic treble remain at Ibrox.

Philippe Clement’s side were handed a new injury blow early in the first half when Brighton loanee Sima hobbled off after just 15 minutes with a hamstring issue, but the Senegalese international has hinted that he will be available for the final.

Posting on his Instagram story on Sunday (21 April) he shared the Light Blues’ post with the caption: “Onto the final” followed by a photo of him in action at Hampden.

Will Abdallah Sima be fit to play for Rangers and Philippe Clement against St Mirren?

So many of Michael Beale’s summer signings at Ibrox struggled to adapt to the Scottish game, but Sima has not looked back since arriving in Glasgow and has been a complete revelation in the Light Blues’ frontline.

The 22-year-old has scored 11 goals in just 17 Premiership starts this term, most of which have seen him start out wide. He isn’t the perfect wideman and he has struggled slightly since his previous injury, but he is one of Clement’s more reliable players.

Rangers forward Abdallah Sima posted a cryptic hint after his injury at Hampden

Keeping him fit between now and the end of the season was always going to be incredibly important in the Gers’ push for the title. It will be a major blow if the Brighton loanee misses any more of the campaign following this latest knock.

Hopefully, he won’t be on the sidelines for too long. While his post is cryptic, it does suggest that he is targeting a return before the end of the season. With Scott Wright out of the picture and Fabio Silva struggling for form, Clement and Rangers need Sima fit and available.
