Trabzonspor ready to make new offer for Rangers star John Lundstram, contacts to accelerate

Trabzonspor are set to make a fresh offer to sign John Lundstram from Rangers after accelerating contact with him, according to Fotomac.

Writing on their website (19 April) the Turkish news outlet reported that the Ibrox club offered the 30-year-old midfielder fresh terms to extend his contract beyond this summer, but so far they have failed to come to an agreement.

That has given Trabzonspor encouragement to return to the table with a new offer having accelerated talks to take him to Turkey, with the club already close to sealing a deal to take Borna Barisic on a free transfer according to reports.

Rangers preparing to lose key squad members?

The summer transfer window is going to be quite frantic at Ibrox this year, because some big decisions need to be made.

There are six players out of contract at the end of the season, which has made Philippe Clement unhappy about the situation, but there are a lot of those players who have barely been part of the manager’s plans.

Barisic started off as the first-choice left-back before losing his place in the side through injury to Ridvan Yilmaz, but Lundstram has regularly been the first pick in midfield and his exit would cause problems for the boss.

If he were to leave on a free transfer it would put a dent in the plans for the club going forward, but also would see them lose a key player without getting any cash in return to replace him.

In an ideal world the club will at least know what is happening and can plan for it, but seemingly they don’t know the current situation and things are going from bad to worse.
