Rangers: Scott Brown and Ally McCoist share Old Firm title verdict live on air in new Celtic admission
Celtic “without doubt” hold the advantage over Rangers in the race for the Scottish Premiership title this season, according to Ally McCoist and Scott Brown.
Philippe Clement’s side missed the opportunity to close the gap to Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops at the top of the table as they followed up their defeat to Ross County with a 0-0 against Dundee on Wednesday (17 April).
The Light Blues’ three-match winless run has left them four points adrift of the champions and while there is still an Old Firm clash to play at Parkhead, McCoist admits that it is “very much advantage Celtic”.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Friday (19 April, 7:54) he said: “In recent weeks, obviously the Old Firm game which was a classic game, but Rangers’ form without doubt has dipped. I’m guessing you would agree it’s very much advantage Celtic.”
Brown was quick to reply saying: “100 per cent. I think at the end of the season it doesn’t matter about how you play, it’s about getting those results on the board.
“I think what has helped Celtic is Callum McGregor is back, Carter-Vickers is back, Hatate is back and Kyogo is starting to hit a little bit of form again so that’s the core of their team back together.”
Scott Brown and Ally McCoist agree Celtic have advantage over Rangers in title race
After a really positive second-half performance in the Old Firm derby, Rangers have let their standards slip at the worst possible time to ensure that Celtic are well and truly now in the driving seat in the race for the title.
The defeat to Ross County was incredibly flat and uninspiring, but the draw at Dens Park was perhaps even more worrying as Clement appeared to be happy with his side’s display even though they never looked like scoring.

For whatever reason, the wheels have begun to fall off at Ibrox and it feels like the Belgian is attempting damage limitation to stop his side falling apart in the final weeks of the season. Whether or not it works remains to be seen.
Hopefully, the Light Blues will manage to turn their form around in the final weeks of the campaign and while they will already be thinking about the final Old Firm meeting of the season, they have to book their place in the Scottish Cup final first.
