Rangers: Philippe Clement ‘shellshocked’ by Dundee draw as BBC pundit makes new Ibrox admission
Rangers manager Philippe Clement has been left “shellshocked” by the Light Blues’ dip in form in recent weeks, according to Stephen McGinn.
The Gers missed the chance to close the gap to Celtic at the top of the Premiership table as they drew 0-0 with Dundee to extend their winless run in the league to three matches after losing to Ross County.
Following the full-time whistle at Dens Park, Clement was incredibly positive in his reflection on proceedings at BBC Sport pundit McGinn believes that the negativity around Ibrox has hit the Belgian “hard”.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show (18 April, 16:20) he said: “I think the manager looked shellshocked last night. He took over when Rangers were in a real low, a lot of the fans had conceded the league.
“He came into it and for three or four months, he probably couldn’t see what all the negative noise was about. The only blip in the last four or five months was at Celtic Park. I think from the Motherwell game, it has hit Philippe Clement hard. He doesn’t know where to turn.”
Will Philippe Clement leave Ibrox after Rangers hand Celtic title advantage?
Clement’s post-match interview at Dens Park was not one of a manager in total control and it certainly appeared as though the Belgian was doing everything that he could to try and protect his players after a disappointing result.
The Light Blues were massively off the pace, with several big names failing to perform when it mattered once again, but Clement will know that these players are all he has to work with between now and the end of the season.

While the title is slipping away quickly, Rangers are not entirely out of the race. If they were to beat Celtic at Parkhead they could claw their way back in even if that seems incredibly unlikely given their recent form.
The focus now has to be on the trip to Hampden to face Hearts on Sunday (21 April) but should the Gers fail to book their place in the final, the pressure will only continue to mount on the Belgian.
