Rangers: Fresh John Lundstram transfer update emerges amid Ipswich Town interest
Ipswich Town are not interested in signing Rangers midfielder John Lundstram when his contract expires this summer, according to Football Scotland.
Writing on their website (19 April), the news outlet reported that the Championship outfit have no interest in the 30-year-old Ibrox star and he is not on their shortlist for the summer window.
Reports on Friday (19 April) stated the two parties were close to agreeing terms on a deal worth £2m per year, but Football Scotland say those reports are wide of the mark and talks with Rangers over a new deal are ongoing.
Rangers want to keep John Lundstram
It’s quite clear that Philippe Clement and Rangers want to keep Lundstram at Ibrox next season, but they have left themselves in quite a position once again.
The club have let him get to the final six weeks of his contract without having anything agreed, and they’re completely powerless to stop anyone else speaking to him or trying to sway his thoughts.
Ipswich would be a transfer that could make a lot of sense to him, because it would see him return down south to England and he would no doubt be financially rewarded by playing in the Premier League.

But at Rangers he will be competing for trophies regularly and pushing for Europe, while also being a key member of the side under this manager.
A move to Turkey has also been mooted but that seems less likely to come to fruition, so the fact that Ipswich’s interest has come from thin air suggests that the club have a good chance of getting him to agree to a new deal.
