Rangers player ratings v Dundee: Kemar Roofe in 3/10 stinker as two players score 7/10

Rangers have failed to make their game in hand count against Celtic in the title race after drawing 0-0 against Dundee at Dens Park on Wednesday night.

Philippe Clement was left frustrated by the performance as his side failed to score despite golden chances for both Connor Goldson and Cyriel Dessers.

The goalless draw now means the Gers have gone three Scottish Premiership games without a win and now sit three points behind their Old Firm rivals in the league.

Ibrox News have rated the players out of 10;

Jack Butland – 7

The Englishman made a superb double save to keep out the home side early on. He didn’t have much to do after this however and had a very quiet night.

James Tavernier – 7

The skipper always looks to be positive with the ball and with four chances created, the most of the match [FotMob], he couldn’t do much more.

Connor Goldson – 5

The centre-back ought to have scored when he met a corner delivery full-on. His header was straight at the keeper in what was a disappointing finish.

John Souttar – 5

He so nearly had a penalty given against him as the ball rebounded up and caught his hand. On another day it’s given but in this case, he got the rub of the green. Other than that Souttar didn’t feature much, another who had a quiet night

Dujon Sterling – 5

The full-back showed some great pace at different points in a defensive sense but didn’t strive to get forward very often. He had a quiet night like his fellow defenders.

John Lundstram – 6

The 30-year-old was solid in the midfield for the Gers and kept play ticking while also breaking up many counterattacks by the home side. Nothing spectacular but a professional performance by Lundstram.

Tom Lawrence – 5

On the defensive side, the Welshman didn’t achieve very much but looked better with the ball at his feet. He had some positive runs forward but ultimately didn’t create anything of note to truly impact the game.

Attacking talent let Rangers down v Dundee

Todd Cantwell – 4

Yet another Rangers player who had a quiet night at Dens Park. Cantwell was hooked on 56 minutes and in that time didn’t trouble McCracken in the Dundee goal. Two blocked shots all he had to show for.

Todd Cantwell is linked with a Rangers exit.

Abdallah Sima – 5

The winger positively started the game and looked like a threat early on. His impact got less and less as time went on and he was eventually taken off. Came close to scoring but ultimately failed to find the net in a crunch match.

Fabio Silva – 4

He may have looked good with the ball at his feet at times but Silva failed to link up with any of his fellow forwards and created just one chance. No shots on target to show for 56 minutes of work as he was then substituted.

Kemar Roofe – 3

A bit of a nothing performance from the Jamaica international as he failed to get a single shot on target as he too was hooked by Clement at 56 minutes.

Subs

Kieran Dowell – 5

Cyriel Dessers – 5

The substitute had a single chance which was well saved in the end but he didn’t truly manage to impact the game as he would have wanted.

Rabbi Matondo – N/A

Ross McCausland- N/A
