John Lundstram contract update emerges at Rangers with Ibrox deal set to expire
Contract negotiations to keep Rangers midfielder John Lundstram at Ibrox Stadium are reportedly “progressing”, according to TEAMtalk.
Lundstram’s terms expire at the end of the season and, should a new deal fail to be agreed, the Englishman would leave the club for nothing.
However, TEAMtalk reported on 17 April that talks are moving forward, with the 30-year-old looking likely to extend his stay at Rangers.
Philippe Clement will be thrilled to keep John Lundstram at Rangers
Philippe Clement’s faith in Lundstram is plain for all to see.
The midfielder has been his fourth-most-used player in all competitions this season and is one of just four members of the Rangers squad to have played over 3,000 minutes, racking up 3,932.
Lundstram has been a virtual ever-present at the base of midfield and is trusted to dictate the tempo of the game, progress the ball forward and help to win possession back in the centre of the park.
With a number of first-team players running out of contract at the end of the season, Clement will be keen to keep hold of his most trusted stars.

Plenty of recruitment will be necessary to replace outgoing squad members in a variety of positions – avoiding the task of having to bring in a player to fulfil the same role as Lundstram, who is already acclimatised to Clement’s style and the demands of the league.
