Kris Boyd blasts Rangers as ‘angry’ Philippe Clement noticed v Dundee

Kris Boyd has slammed Rangers for their performance in the goalless draw against Dundee at Dens Park on Wednesday night.

After a defeat against Ross County last time out, the Gers needed to bounce back with a result away at Dens Park.

The first half saw the away side dominate and have their fair share of possession and chances. Despite this, they went in at the break goalless.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football at half time (17 April, 08:57 pm), Boyd recognised how frustrated the Rangers boss was with the performance.

He said: “I think Rangers have been slow again in the build-up and I think Philippe Clement, you can see how angry he is, it’s one of the only times we’ve seen that.”

Did Rangers improve v Dundee?

It has been a sticky patch of form for Rangers having only won of their last three games before the Dundee clash.

Clement was looking for an immediate response from his side but it is safe to say that he never got that in the end.

The first half was slow and the Light Blues had plenty of possession. They created few clear-cut chances other than a Connor Goldson header straight at Jon McCracken.

After half-time, this trend continued to the frustration of fans. Cyriel Dessers had a good effort saved by McCracken but that was as good as it got.

It was yet another frustrating night for the Gers who have fallen even further away from Celtic in the title race when it could have been in their hands.

Clement needs to solve this issue and fast as the post-split fixtures begin in the coming weeks as well as the Scottish Cup semi-final.
