Rangers injury news: Doctor shares Ross McCausland claim v Dundee

Rangers attacker Ross McCausland is unlikely to be at a 100 per cent post his injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that he may not be ready to start against Dundee on 17 April despite being an unused substitute in the 3-2 loss against Ross County at the weekend.

Michael O’Neill, the Northern Ireland manager, claimed that he’s played with pain and has had a complex injury. [25 March]

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Based on the manager’s comments the injury wasn’t serious.

I reckon that the complex injury refers more so to the management of the injury and navigating pain and discomfort.

The fact he hasn’t played 90 minutes yet since his return is a sign that he’s not at 100 per cent yet but depending on the injury specifics, he may not be 100 per cent until he has time to properly rehab it.

It might take him a few more weeks to return to a 100 per cent and being an unused substitute in games is certainly not going to help and he may not even be ready to start.

McCausland has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Rangers

McCausland has experienced a breakthrough season at Ibrox, with notable contributions to the first team.

He scored a crucial goal in the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock in January and has since been a bright spark in the attack, making the odd starts as well.

The 20-year-old’s performances have impressed Philippe Clement, leading to a new deal that keeps him at the club until summer 2027.

His development and increasing involvement in the first team mark a successful campaign for the young Northern Ireland international.

In other Rangers news, a pundit has issued a claim on a player’s salary with a first-team Ibrox exit possible this summer.
