Chris Sutton destroys Rangers with new Philippe Clement admission made
Chris Sutton has destroyed Rangers after their performance against Ross County despite their resilience in the previous game v Celtic.
The former Hoops striker believes that the 3-2 loss was not something that Philippe Clement would’ve seen coming as well.
Gers failed to close the gap to their rivals and Celtic are now the favourites to win the SPFL title this season.
Speaking on Daily Mail’s ‘It’s All Kicking Off’ podcast, Sutton said, via Daily Record: “Basically, nobody saw that coming. Least of all Philippe Clement. With the way they finished against Celtic I was astonished by the real lack of intensity from their performance, especially after a first half where they were so insipid.
“They go in front and you think they are not going to let this go, but Ross County came out and got a couple of goals. They carried a real threat to Rangers and they go 3-1 ahead. That is a bad, bad day for Rangers.”
Rangers and Philippe Clement need to turn things around
As the manager, Clement has a responsibility to raise the team’s standards and address the issues that led to such an unacceptable performance.
While players may have underperformed on the day, it is Clement’s role to instil a winning mentality and tactical prowess in his squad.
Sutton’s remarks suggest that Rangers lacked the intensity and focus needed to secure a victory, especially after a strong display in their previous match.
This inconsistency raises questions about Clement’s ability to motivate his players and make the right tactical decisions during critical moments.
To turn things around, Clement must take a hard look at his strategies and the team’s overall mentality.
He must identify the root causes of the lacklustre performance and implement changes that will prevent similar outcomes in the future.
This may involve adjustments to training methods, team selection, or even addressing the psychological aspects of the game.

Ultimately, the responsibility lies with Clement to ensure that Gers perform at their best consistently and hopefully, there is a response in the game against Dundee on 17 April.
