Rangers agreement not taken lightly with Celtic with authorities on red alert
Dan Plumley has insisted that the agreement to reintroduce away fans at Rangers and Celtic games will not have been taken lightly.
The finance expert admitted that the Old Firm fixture will always have the SPFL and authorities on red alert, but is nothing without travelling support.
It has been confirmed that away fans will be allowed back at Ibrox and Parkhead from next season, with a five per cent allocation agreed at each stadium.
“We know it’s always going to be a fixture where the authorities, the league, it will put people on red alert,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“It’s just one of those fixtures, but for the wider game and for the fans, the two managers have come out and said this always, it’s the best solution all around.
“You want those games to be played with the best atmospheres possible and having away fans is pivotal to that as well.
“I think all things considered, the right decision, and I’m sure it’s not one that has been taken lightly.”

Rangers and Celtic in new SPFL agreement
This is something that has been needed for many years now, with even Chris Sutton calling the impasse between the two “petty”.
Given how tight the current Scottish Premiership title race is between the two, bringing back away fans could be huge after years of one or the other taking control.
With the authorities said to be on red alert, that is just the same in any football derby.
