Philippe Clement axes Mohamed Diomande in four changes – Rangers confirmed XI v Ross County

Philippe Clement has made four changes to the Rangers starting lineup as his side prepares to take on Ross County on Sunday (14 April).

The Gers confirmed on their official Twitter account that Jack Butland will start in goal, with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Borna Barisic making up the defence.

John Lundstram and Kieran Dowell start in midfield, while Todd Cantwell, Fabio Silva, Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers will occupy the attacking positions.

That means Dujon Sterling, Tom Lawrence and Scott Wright drop to the bench from the side that drew with Celtic, with Mohamed Diomande not included in the squad after undergoing surgery on his thumb.

Rangers need to keep up pace with Celtic in title race

This is a game Rangers know they simply have to win if they want to come out on top in their title race with Celtic this season.

The Hoops extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to four points following their 3-0 victory over St Mirren on Saturday (13 April).

It’s been a frustrating week for Clement’s side on the back of the 3-3 draw with their Old Firm rivals, having seen their game against Dundee postponed for the second time.

But they have to put that behind them and switch their focus to the match against Ross County, where they would be expecting to pick up a convincing victory.

The Gers know that if they can claim the three points in Dingwall and back that up with a win against The Dee on 17 April, then they will regain their place at the top of the table.
