John Hartson fires new jibe at Rangers after Premiership defeat v Ross County
John Hartson has fired a fresh jibe at Rangers and their supporters following the Light Blues’ Premiership defeat to Ross County.
Philippe Clement’s side missed the opportunity to close the gap to the Hoops at the top of the Scottish Premiership and suffered a major blow to their title hopes as they lost 3-2 to Don Cowie’s side on Sunday (14 April).
The defeat means Brendan Rodgers’ side are in the driving seat in the fight for the title this term, with one Old Firm clash to be played at Parkhead and former Hoops forward Hartson was quick to comment on the Gers’ defeat.
Writing on X on Sunday (14 April) he said: “Who else is having a lovely Sunday.”
Celtic have advantage over Rangers in Premiership title race as John Hartson and Chris Sutton delighted
Rangers had managed to drag themselves back into the Premiership title race under Clement this season after a dreadful start to the season under Michael Beale, but they have just taken another huge step backwards.
While the Light Blues were miles off of their best against Celtic last time out, they found the belief and the energy from somewhere to be able to grab a vital point, but that same passion was completely absent against Ross County.
Teams that win titles don’t slip up in that manner. In the space of a week, Clement’s side have gone from title favourites to the laughing stock of the Premiership. Something has to change if they want to get back into this title fight.
Rangers need to bounce back and bounce back quickly because Celtic and their supporters are currently licking their lips at the prospect of another title. The final Old Firm meeting of the season at Parkhead couldn’t be more crucial.
