Rangers: Clinton Morrison fumes at Rabbi Matondo footage in new Celtic verdict
Clinton Morrison was fuming with Rabbi Matondo footage live on Sky Sports as he discussed the 3-3 draw between Rangers and Celtic on 7 April.
Morrison, an ex-Ireland international, questioned how the Celtic defence allowed the winger so much space and time to cut in and curl his effort into the top corner.
He went on to insist the defenders should have never given him the time to get his shot off as Kris Boyd described the goal as “outstanding.”
Speaking live on Sky Sports News [13 April, 13:25], Boyd explained: “Matondo, this is unbelievable. He did it against Hibs and then did it again against Celtic. Outstanding to bend it in that far corner.”
Morrison, meanwhile, fumed: “Matondo scored in the 110th minute, where has he got all that time from? Unbelievable. He never should have been given that time.”

Matondo’s goal rescued what could turn out to be a crucial point for Rangers during the SPFL title race as a win for Celtic would have seen Brendan Rodgers’ team pull further away from their rivals at the top of the league.
Morrison’s anger at the defence would be justifiable given the time he was afforded to slam the ball into the top corner so late in the game, with the goal coming in the 93rd minute, but what’s done is done and both teams will have to reset and go again as we approach the crucial stages.
As things stand, there is a four-point gap between the two leading sides, although Rangers have two games in hand as they prepare to visit Ross County on 14 April ahead of the controversial rearranged fixture with Dundee at Dens Park.
The title race is far from over after the game, with Clement’s side still to make the trip to Parkhead, meaning if Celtic win the rest of their games they will win the league despite Rangers’ apparent advantage with games in hand.
