Rangers: Doctor shares Abdallah Sima update ahead of Ross County clash
Rangers attacker Abdallah Sima may not be ready yet to play the full 90 minutes as he’s coming off an extended injury layoff, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that despite coming off the bench v Celtic on 7 April, he’s unlikely to last the entire game v Ross County on 14 April.
The Senegal international picked up a thigh injury on international duty at the AFCON which kept him out of action for nearly three months.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“The key for Sima coming off an extended layoff is how he responds to minutes.
“You want to make sure there aren’t any signs of overload and/or fatigue in the area of injury and others as well.
“If he checks out, his minutes will then get bumped higher and you repeat the process.
“It is likely that he’s not ready for the 90 minutes yet but could be ready for a start.”
Rangers must not rush Sima back and risk re-injury
The 22-year-old has been a crucial signing for Philippe Clement’s side this season and has bagged 11 goals and two assists in 22 league games.
He even scored off the bench against Celtic so it’s evident that he’s not lost his goal-scoring touch.

It remains to be seen how many minutes he plays against Ross County, but there remains a chance of him being given a start in this one.
In other Rangers news, a Leeds-born striker has confirmed that he wants to move to Ibrox and is available on a free transfer this summer.
