Rangers v Ross County: Philippe Clement issues Mohamed Diomande injury update
Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande will be missing the Ross County clash on Sunday, 14 April, after an issue picked up in the Celtic game.
In the build-up to this weekend’s clash, Philippe Clement confirmed that the January signing has had to have an operation as well.
However, the thumb injury which required a procedure, is not expected to keep him out for too long and Ryan Jack and Danilo continue to be out.
Via Twitter, Clement said: “Diomande had an operation on his thumb after a contact in the Old Firm match, he will be missing this weekend.
“It’s not a long-term one.”
Rangers remain favourites for this game
Rangers are still considered favourites for their upcoming match against Ross County.
This confidence in their performance stems from their overall squad depth and the tactical capabilities of Clement.
The team’s ability to adapt to the loss of Diomande, coupled with their strong form and recent performances, positions them as likely victors in the match.
Moreover, Gers have a significant opportunity to potentially end the weekend as league leaders if Celtic drop points.
Given the tight race for the top spot in the league, a win against Ross County combined with dropped points by Celtic could see them leapfrog their rivals to claim the number one position.
This scenario underscores the importance of the upcoming match for Clement’s side, as it not only allows them to maintain their strong position in the league but also potentially puts them in pole position for the title race.
Hopefully, they can go on to get the job done in a professional manner against Ross County.
