Rangers v Dundee: Potential fine amount emerges amid SPFL chaos
A five-figure fine has been mooted amid the second rescheduling of the Rangers v Dundee fixture in the SPFL, according to Football Scotland.
The news outlet reported on 11 April that the “embarrassing state of affairs” Dundee are likely to be charged more than the £50,000 Motherwell were fined in 2010 considering inflation if they are guilty.
This even saw Gers writing to the SPFL to express their grievances and John Hartson attacked them for that decision.
Rangers rage is justified and the SPFL need to take action
Dundee’s repeated pitch problems have led to a chaotic situation in the SPFL.
Their Dens Park surface has been deemed unplayable for a fifth time this season, causing the rearranged Premiership match with Gers to be postponed again.
This has disrupted the league schedule and inconvenienced teams and supporters, leading to frustration and criticism.
The SPFL must take action to hold Dundee accountable for failing to maintain a playable pitch, which has significantly affected the league’s integrity and efficiency.
To ensure other teams do not face similar issues, Dundee should face a heavy fine as a deterrent and a requirement to invest in necessary improvements, such as installing undersoil heating and upgrading drainage systems.
Additionally, they must commit to maintaining the pitch at a high standard to avoid further disruptions.

These measures will protect the league’s reputation and guarantee fair competition for all teams.
