John Hartson rages at ‘Embarrassment’ Fabio Silva as new Rangers v Celtic footage drops

John Hartson has labelled Fabio Silva “an embarrassment” after new footage dropped of the striker during the 3-3 draw between Rangers and Celtic.

Silva has come under fire in recent days after he was fouled for a penalty during the game, with several pundits claiming that he dived while some were unhappy with the way he went down regularly during the game.

A short video showing the Wolves loanee rolling around holding his face during the game has emerged on Twitter (11 April), and ex-Hoops striker Hartson responded to it slating the 21-year-old for his actions.

“Call an ambulance,” he wrote. “What an embarrassment,” accompanied by two smiling, laughing faces.

Time to move on from criticism of Rangers ace Fabio Silva

As fans of football, nobody wants to see players rolling around and feigning injury, and especially if they’re playing for your team.

Rangers fans won’t have been happy watching Silva roll around on the ground during the game at Ibrox against their fiercest rivals, especially considering the situation with the team trailing for much of the fixture.

But at this stage, the game was several days ago and it’s time to move on for everyone, including pundits who are clearly biased one way or another.

Hartson is a hero at Celtic and is obviously trying to win brownie points by sharing the footage and adding his two cents, but there is no need to drag this out further.

Hopefully Philippe Clement will have words with Silva to stop with the theatrics and get on with playing the game, and Rangers fans have made it clear they didn’t like it either. That should be the end of that.
