Rangers v Dundee: David Edgar reacts as rain pours down at Dens Park
David Edgar has reacted to brand new footage of Dens Park ahead of the 3:30pm pitch inspection for Dundee vs Rangers on Wednesday night (10 April).
The two teams are due to face off, with the pitch passing an 11:00am inspection on the day of the game despite concerns the game could be called off for a second time.
But there is due to be a second inspection after more rainfall was expected, and new footage from an account on Twitter (10 April) has shown the pitch is only partially covered while rain pours down just hours before kick-off.
Reacting to the footage, Heart and Hand’s David Edgar simply posted a sad face emoji as Rangers fans wait on news of whether they should travel for the away day or not.
Rangers are rightly furious with Dundee and SPFL
This entire situation has been avoidable if Dundee and the SPFL were smart and open to contingency plans, but instead they’ve been obtuse and it’s Rangers who have been taken for a ride.
The club were forced to travel to Dens Park last month for a game that was called off 90 minutes before kick-off without any communication from anyone involved.
Philippe Clement has already labelled the situation regarding the rearranged game as “crazy” and a “bad situation for the league”, because the club have had to travel once again without assurances that the game will happen.
Fans don’t know whether to travel or not despite spending their hard-earned money on tickets and transport, but they’re the last people that anyone has considered in this situation.
It’s poor from Dundee to not be able to host games at this level, it’s poor from the SPFL to allow it and it’s ultimately not good enough from all involved.
