Rangers could sell Jack Butland this summer as new transfer lined up

Rangers could be set to lose Jack Butland this summer as they eye up a new transfer to sign Arnaud Bodart, according to Sudinfo.

Writing on their website (10 April), the Belgian news outlet report that the Ibrox club are keen on signing goalkeeper Bodart from Standard Liege during the summer transfer window.

And that’s because Philippe Clement “could part with Jack Butland,” with interest from English Premier League clubs already known after an offer was rejected during January.

Will Rangers sell Jack Butland this summer?

It seems quite obvious at this point that the Ibrox club are going to have to deal with interest from the Premier League in Butland, and it’s going to be incredibly tough to ignore.

Butland clearly has aspirations of playing for England again, and it seems as though playing for Rangers is going against him for the national team despite playing at a very high level.

His form this season has been nothing short of exceptional both domestically and in Europe, and he is easily capable of playing regularly for a team in England’s top flight.

After signing him on a free transfer last summer any fee that the club bring in for him would be pure profit which would obviously be useful for the summer budget, but he’s so important to the team that letting him go will almost certainly see a downgrade replace him.

But there is every chance the club could bring in an eight-figure fee which would be huge for the summer plans for the rest of the squad, so there will be a decision to make.

In other Rangers news, one player has surely played his final game for the club after what Clement said.
