Ridvan Yilmaz ruled out for Rangers v Dundee, three more unavailable

Rangers will be without Ridvan Yilmaz and three others for the SPFL clash with Dundee on Wednesday night, Philippe Clement has confirmed.

The Turkey defender has been missing since suffering a thigh injury on international duty and remains unavailable for the re-arranged clash at Dens Park.

Oscar Cortes, Danilo and Ryan Jack also remain out of contention for the game as long-term injury problems, but the manager has a strong squad to choose from for the game.

“Ridvan is still missing, not long-term but not fit for this game,” Clement said while speaking in his pre-game press conference (9 April).

“It’s a matter of days not weeks for him.”

Rangers must get back to winning ways v Dundee

The draw with Celtic was a disappointing result for many at Ibrox, especially considering the form going into the game and the fact they were at home.

But after falling behind in 22 seconds in bizarre circumstances, and then falling behind again on 86 minutes it should be looked at as a point gained rather than a point dropped.

A win over Dundee now will take the team back to the top of the SPFL table, and that will be a big boost for the team psychologically and could hurt Celtic in the final run-in.

There is another Old Firm game to come at Parkhead later this season, but Clement has made it clear he wants to take things one game at a time and that makes Dundee the most important.

A win rebuilds momentum for the light blues, and with a strong squad to choose from when it comes to injuries for the first time in what feels like forever, it’s a big boost for the manager.

In other Rangers news, club chief John Nelms has shared if the clash with Dundee is set to go ahead amid “contingency plans”.
