Rangers: Roy Keane shares new Old Firm title verdict live on Sky Sports after draw v Celtic
Rangers don’t have the advantage over Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race following the Old Firm derby clash at Ibrox, according to Roy Keane.
Philippe Clement’s side picked up their first Old Firm point of the season with a dramatic 3-3 draw on Sunday (7 April) thanks to second-half goals from James Tavernier, Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo.
If the Light Blues win their clash against Dundee on Wednesday (10 April) they will return to the top of the Premiership ahead of the split, but former Hoops midfielder Keane still thinks the title could go either way
Speaking on Sky Sports Football (7 April) he said: “A really good game, played with a good pace to it, some really good goals and good spirit amounts from both sets of players and managers. So yeah, really good game.
“Advantage Rangers? I’m not sure, I think they’ll be delighted with a draw, to get such a late equaliser. There’s still the game to go at Celtic Park so I’d still say maybe 50/50.”
Will Rangers or Celtic win the Scottish Premiership this season after Old Firm draw?
While Rangers are currently in the driving seat, they don’t have a big enough lead over their Glasgow rivals to be considered favourites for the title, especially as there is still plenty of football to be played in the coming weeks.
Both sides have shown over the last few months that they are more than capable of dropping points when you least expect it and you wouldn’t bet against the same thing happening between now and the end of the year.

The Light Blues simply have to take each game as it comes. At the end of the day, if they win every game between now and the end of the year, including the tie at Parkhead, they will lift the Premiership trophy this season.
Hopefully, they don’t let their standards slip and build on an impressive second half at Ibrox on Sunday. If they keep their key players fit and firing, Keane may have to admit that they’re favourites for the title.
