Rangers: Chris Sutton fires ‘TikTok’ jibe at Todd Cantwell live on air after Old Firm draw v Celtic

Chris Sutton has fired a new “TikTok” jibe at Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell following the Light Blues’ Old Firm draw with Celtic.

Philippe Clement’s side came from behind to draw 3-3 at Ibrox on Sunday (7 April) with goals from James Tavernier, Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo keeping them within touching distance of the Hoops at the top of the table.

After the full-time whistle, tensions bubbled over and Cantwell became involved in a tussle with Celtic captain Callum McGregor and Sutton was quick to slam the “daft” midfielder for his push on the Hoops star.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football (7 April) he said: “Absolutely, what a game we’ve seen. Here’s the coming together at the end between McGregor and Cantwell. Cantwell pushes him, I don’t know why he does that.

“It’s just daft from Todd Cantwell, do you’re talking on the pitch TikTok.”

Will Rangers win the Scottish Premiership after Old Firm draw v Celtic at Ibrox?

Sutton and Cantwell are by no means the best of friends and the former Celtic striker has made his feelings clear on the Englishman on a number of occasions, especially after his display at Parkhead this season.

Once again, the Gers midfielder struggled to have a major impact on the game as he was introduced as a second-half substitute, but he did get more than stuck in after the full-time whistle even if it was for absolutely no reason.

Luckily, the former Norwich man didn’t appear to be handed any further punishment for his action and tensions were quickly calmed before what was a small shoving match turned into a full-on brawl between players.

Sunday’s meeting was a classic Old Firm clash and it will go down in history but it wouldn’t have been a real modern-day meeting between the two Glasgow sides if Sutton hadn’t taken aim at Cantwell.
