Rangers v Celtic: Michael Stewart rages at ‘Disgraceful’ scenes at Ibrox
Michael Stewart has exploded at the officials after Rangers rescued a late 3-3 draw against Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday 7 April.
The outspoken pundit admitted that the officials impacted the result of a huge game in the Scottish Premiership, with Cyriel Dessers having a goal disallowed.
Rabbi Matondo curled home the equaliser in stoppage time with the Bears now having the chance to go top of the league against Dundee next time out.
He wrote on X: “The officiating is embarrassing our game.
“They’ve impacted the result in the biggest game of the season. Disgraceful.”
Shocking Rangers controversies v Celtic
It was a breathtaking afternoon at Ibrox and once again it will be the officials who take the spotlight despite the football on show.
John Beaton did not officiate that game, it was the technology and those in charge of VAR yet again, who have cost Rangers three huge points.
This is not what the VAR system was brought in to do in Scotland, and they are embarrassing themselves every single week at this moment in time.
Dessers’ goal was fine, and the supposed foul by Tom Lawrence was soft, to say the least, but Celtic managed to spare their own blushes.
The performance as a whole will enrage Philippe Clement, with the first half one of the worst we have seen all season at Ibrox.
After all of that though, the Scottish Premiership title is still in the hands of Rangers and if they win their remaining games, it will be all theirs.
In other Rangers news, a Leeds-born striker has confirmed that he wants to move to Ibrox and is available on a free transfer this summer.
