Rangers v Celtic: Chris Sutton sends ‘Huge’ message from Ibrox ahead of Old Firm

Chris Sutton has emphasised just how “huge” the Old Firm derby between Rangers and Celtic is ahead of kick-off.

The Gers welcome their title rivals to Ibrox on Sunday (7 April) for a lunchtime kick-off which will play a massive part in deciding who lifts the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Ahead of the match getting underway, Sutton has shared an image from Ibrox to his official X account (8 April), reminding supporters of the importance of the clash.

Sutton wrote, “This is huge. Game of the day. Rangers v Celtic live on Sky Sports all the coverage from 11am”.

Rangers and Celtic set for the biggest Old Firm derby in years

The word “huge” is perhaps an understatement for just how big this clash between Rangers and Celtic truly is.

Philippe Clement has the opportunity to lead Rangers to their first Scottish Premiership title in three years during what is his debut season in Scotland.

And a victory over Celtic on Sunday would certainly see them put one hand on the trophy.

The Gers are just one point behind the Hoops still with a game in hand, and victory over Brendan Rodgers’ side, as well as three points in their game in hand, would see them move five clear at the summit of the Scottish Premiership.

An Old Firm derby rarely needs much introduction, and they’re always a sight to behold, but this latest instalment of the fierce rival between the two Glasgow giants certainly feels larger than it has done in years.

Celtic have twice beaten Rangers this season, and Clement will be looking for revenge.
