Four Lads react to ‘Farcical’ Rangers – Dundee development as BBC footage emerges

Four Lads believe the game between Rangers and Dundee will be called off again after BBC Sport footage of the pitch emerged on Saturday afternoon.

Dens Park has come under criticism for being unplayable in recent weeks, but their game against Motherwell on Saturday (6 April) was allowed to go on despite the poor surface which led to Motherwell making a formal complaint to the SPFL.

But after footage emerged of the referee inspecting the pitch on Saturday, Four Lads Had A Dream reacted on their personal Twitter account (6 April) and admitted they can’t see how Wednesday’s game with Rangers will go ahead as the pitch is already a “cow field”.

“Pretty sure our game on Wednesday won’t be playable after this today, the pitch is already a cow field,” they wrote.

“A farcical situation for a top flight club.”

Absolutely ridiculous from Dundee

Rangers will have their full focus on the Old Firm derby with Celtic on Sunday, but there will certainly be some people at the club watching what is happening at Dundee and raising question marks.

For a top flight club to be in this position in mid-season is absolutely ridiculous, and for the SPFL to allow it to happen is even worse. There is no way the game with Motherwell should have gone ahead.

Motherwell were understandably unhappy at the situation and if a player had picked up a serious injury due to the pitch, it could ruin their entire campaign.

Rangers will be thinking the same thing, especially with the injury issues they’ve already had this season and with the fact the stakes are even higher for them as they compete with Celtic for the title.

With the pitch at Dens Park as bad as it was, and then a full 100 minutes of action to be played on top of it, it seems highly unlikely the rearranged fixture on Wednesday will be going ahead.
