Rangers: Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil make Old Firm prediction live on talkSPORT
Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil have shared their predictions ahead of the upcoming Old Firm clash between Rangers and Celtic, although they played down suggestions it could be a title decider.
Brazil insisted that with Rangers still yet to travel to Parkhead, the game on 7 April, while still a big one, would not be decisive for the title race.
McCoist then claimed that he was “very very hopeful” of getting a result, with not much to separate the clubs in the league or on the pitch with plenty of football still to be played.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [07:36] Brazil shared: “It’s a big, big game, but it’s not the title decider is it because Rangers have still got to go to Parkhead.”
McCoist then explained: “There’s still plenty of football to be played but it’s tough to call. I don’t think there’s much between the teams. I just think you could stick a bit of paper between them, I genuinely do. I would be very very hopeful that we’ll win it.”

Suggestions that the weekend’s clash could be a title decider are far from inaccurate. While there is still plenty of football to be played, and Rangers still face the trip to Parkhead, a win at Ibrox would set them up to pull away.
If they can beat Celtic and then secure all three points against Dundee midweek, Rangers will move five points clear at the top of the league, putting themselves in the strongest possible position to go all the way and take the trophy home.
While the race won’t be over after this clash, it will certainly hand control to one of the two clubs, a positive result for either side could give them the edge both on points and mentally heading into the closing stages of the season.
Rangers winger Scott Wright has insisted the team are confident heading into the game, and as McCoist has suggested previously, this should be a massive game in deciding the destination of the SPFL title.
