Neil Warnock makes Rangers and Celtic admission in new Bojan Miovski transfer verdict live on air

Rangers and Celtic have been namechecked by Neil Warnock in a brand new transfer admission surrounding Aberdeen striker, Bojan Miovski.

The North Macedonian forward has impressed during a tough season at Pittodrie, scoring 14 goals and laying on two assists in 31 Scottish Premiership matches this season, despite The Dons’ poor domestic form.

While Aberdeen will likely be keen to keep the 24-year-old beyond the end of the summer transfer window, former boss Warnock has admitted he expects Miovski to be sold with both Old Firm clubs likely suitors.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday (3 April, 8:52) he said: “I think they possibly will sell him in the summer. I think obviously the top two [Rangers and Celtic], he would fit in with them as well because he works hard.

“He did about 10km running when we played Rangers, he worked his socks off, but he’s a good finisher and I think it’s done him a world of good going to Aberdeen.”

Will Rangers or Celtic win the transfer race for Aberdeen ace Bojan Miovski?

Rangers will almost certainly be in the market for a new number nine again this summer, especially as some uncertainty remains over Cyriel Dessers’ future at Ibrox given his incredibly inconsistent performances.

On top of that, the likes of Kemar Roofe and Danilo have struggled for both fitness and form at Ibrox this term and that has left Philippe Clement short on options, therefore, a new centre-forward will be top of the shopping list.

While most supporters expect the Belgian to look abroad this summer, Miovski knows the Premiership inside and out and has shown that he is more than capable of scoring north of the border, something which can be invaluable in a title race.

Rangers and Celtic have been accused of transfer snobbery before when it comes to buying talent from within Scotland. Whether that same snobbery rises again this summer remains to be seen, but Miovski will certainly be on the Gers’ radar.
