Rangers injury news as James Tavernier update emerges from Ibrox already

James Tavernier has reassured Rangers supporters that he is fine despite concern in the closing stages of the 3-1 win against Hibernian at Ibrox on 30 March.

The ever-present captain was the subject of injury worry towards the end of the clash after going down, but it appears any blow he suffered was only minor.

This update will be positive news for the fans and for Philippe Clement as the mindset at Ibrox will now turn to the crucial Old Firm clash with Celtic next weekend.

As shared by Heart & Hand Podcast host David Edgar on X [30 March], Tavernier confessed he was fine despite the initial scare.

James Tavernier injury news emerges ahead of Rangers v Celtic

The captain was terrific again as he helped his side to a 3-1 win at Ibrox despite having rather uncharacteristically missed a penalty in the first half, before minutes later firing his team ahead after a late run into the box.

As a result of their victory, Rangers have leapfrogged their rivals Celtic back to the top of the league, with their clash against Livingston set to take place on 31 March.

Tavernier will be aware of how big next week’s clash is, with the result potentially deciding the destination of this season’s SPFL title, and their recent poor record will need to be flipped upside down if they want to take all three points.

The news that Tavernier will not be injured for the game is a huge boost, alongside the return of Abdallah Sima who has recovered from his previous injury blow just in time for the biggest game of the season so far in Glasgow.
