Rangers: Pundit rages ahead of Hibs clash at Ibrox – ‘Horrendous, Unacceptable’
Tam McManus believes it’s “completely unacceptable” for Hibernian to have gone 20 league games without recording a victory against Rangers.
Writing on page 46 of the Daily Record’s print edition on Friday (29 March), the pundit pointed out how Hibs’ “horrendous” winless run against the Gers stretches all the way back to the 2021 League Cup semi-final, where forward Martin Boyle scored a hat-trick.
Ahead of the clash between the two sides on Saturday (30 March), he pinpointed attacking midfielder Emiliano Marcondes as being “vital” in trying to help the Edinburgh club bring that run to an end at Ibrox.
Hibernian looking to end miserable run against Rangers
It really is an awful run that Hibernian have been on against Rangers over the past few years, with their last victory in the fixture coming more than two years ago.
Nick Montgomery will be desperate to put that right at Ibrox, but it certainly won’t be an easy task against a Gers side who have been flying over the past few months.
Philippe Clement will be looking for his players to come flying out of the traps, having not played since their Europa League defeat against Benfica on 14 March.

The Belgian will know the importance of picking up a victory in the bid to lift the title this season as well as gaining a bit of momentum heading into the Old Firm clash on 7 April.
There really isn’t any margin for error and, while the Light Blues may already have one eye on that game against Celtic, they have to get the job done against a Hibs side who can cause problems on their day.
In other Rangers news, Neil Lennon has labelled a situation as “unacceptable” after what happened to the Gers.
