Rangers: Michael Beale reacts to Nnamdi Ofoborh transfer news after what he’s seen
Michael Beale has reacted to the “amazing” news that former Rangers player Nnamdi Ofoborh has joined Swindon Town.
Ofoborh spent three years on Rangers’ books, during which time he was coached by Michael Beale, but a heart defect meant he did not play.
The 24-year-old was released last summer and has now found a new club, with Swindon confirming his arrival on their official website [29 March].
Reacting to the news on his personal Instagram account [29 March], Beale said: “One of the best things I have seen in a long time.
“Congratulations Nnamdi – amazing to see you finally back doing what you love.”
Nnamdi Ofoborh unable to make his mark at Rangers
Ofoborh was an exciting young talent when arriving at Ibrox after catching the eye at Wycombe Wanderers, who he joined on loan from Bournemouth.
However, doctors discovered a heart issue soon after he joined and he did not play under Steven Gerrard, Giovanni van Bronckhorst nor Beale.
The decision to let him go last summer was the right one, and it looked as though that may have been it for his career despite being aged just 24.

However, not only have Swindon taken a chance on Ofoborh, they named him in their matchday squad to face Notts County on Friday (29 March).
And the midfielder played the final five minutes of the contest, which clearly means he has been given the all-clear to resume his career after a frustrating lay-off.
After being cruelly denied the chance to make an impact at Ibrox, Ofoborh will now be eager to make up for lost time.
