Rangers: Chris Jack shares Ridvan Yilmaz injury update amid ‘huge blow’ at Ibrox
Chris Jack has admitted the injury to Ridvan Yilmaz will be a “huge blow” to Rangers, with people now fearing the worst about the diagnosis which the club are yet to provide.
Yilmaz picked up an injury while on international duty with Turkey, as he hadn’t even played half an hour before he was brought off after picking up the knock.
Jack reassured that we remain unsure about the extent of the injury given the lack of a statement from the club, but admitted it would be a huge blow and typical for Rangers if he was ruled out.
Speaking on The Rangers Review [25 March], Jack shared: “It sums up Rangers’ season. Knowing Rangers, that’s him probably done for the season. We don’t know that yet, people are right to fear the worst, Rangers are yet to make a full diagnosis of it.
“We don’t know if he’s out for this weekend or longer term. It would be such a huge blow for Rangers because in the last couple of months, he’s been really impressive and such an important part of the side which has done really well.”
Rangers suffer yet another injury blow with Ridvan Yilmaz
Yilmaz now joins a list including the likes of Abdallah Sima, Ross McCausland, Dujon Sterling, Ryan Jack, Todd Cantwell, Oscar Cortes, Kieran Dowell and many more at Ibrox who have suffered long-term injuries this season in what has been a turbulent year.
The loss of Yilmaz will come as a particularly big blow to Philippe Clement after the Turkish left-back, who was linked with an exit throughout January, had finally been hitting top form at Ibrox and showing what he is capable of.
A lack of minutes for Borna Barisic who has been poor this season and looks set to leave when his contract expires has led to Yilmaz claiming the starting place, but the Croatian may now be thrown back into the mix.

Other alternatives include the likes of Sterling and Ben Davies playing out of position, as we have seen at times this season when injury troubles have struck, but that decision will come down to what Clement wants from his team.
