Rangers partners get it spot on as ‘disaster’ avoided for supporter

There were a lot of people who were left annoyed by the decision to postpone Rangers’ visit to Dundee on Sunday (17 March).

The fixture at Den Park fell victim to heavy rain, much to the chagrin of Gers boss Philippe Clement, while several pundits have also slammed the fiasco.

The SPFL consequently said it would investigate as it was the fourth home game Dundee have had called off this season.

Luckless Rangers supporter has tale of woe

But there was one supporter who had a particularly luckless outing, with the diehard Light Blues fan travelling nearly 500 miles from Wales with his young son, only for the game to get called off (Daily Record).

Rangers players did at least stop for some photos with the youngster but it was a hell of a trip to make only for it to be called off.

Well, even this tale of woe had a happy ending as the man took to his X account – @_TF93 – on Wednesday to say how Rangers partners Rhino Express & Pipeline Energy Solutions helped to make up for the “disaster” he went through.

“Dundee away take 2 all booked up. Massive thanks to Rangers partners Rhino Express & Pipeline Energy Solutions who got in touch and have kindly covered our travel & hotel costs after Sunday’s disaster.”

It is an extremely classy touch and one that will give good PR for the company and good PR for the club.

It might have been a long journey that turned into huge disappointment but the club’s partners have got it absolutely spot on to help a supporter in need.

Well played to everyone involved.
