Rangers: SPFL hit back at ‘inaccuracies’ after new Hampden Park development
The SPFL has hit back at “inaccuracies” following a board meeting at Hampden Park after Rangers were joined by five other clubs in sending an open letter in response to the handling of the Independent Governance report last month.
The meeting at Hampden on Tuesday (19 March), as per Daily Record (20 March, page 46), was to discuss the findings of the recent independent governance review, with “serious concerns” raised about the independence, transparency and overall governance of the SPFL.
Following the meeting, the SPFL has claimed that there were “inaccuracies” within that letter and that the decision-makers would be able to “satisfy all issues raised”.
Rangers and other SPFL clubs are bored of sitting in the dark
The Scottish Premiership is just the top of a very tall pyramid, feeding down into the lower Scottish leagues, who all deserve to be treated equally.
Rangers are, rightly, concerned about how the leagues are being run, and the handling of these concerns will only raise more red flags ahead of next month’s general meeting.
Allegations being thrown about in the SPFL will only hinder the Scottish Premiership, as well as the teams below bidding to reach the top tier of Scottish football.

Clubs, the SPFL board, and fans alike should only want what is best for its leagues, but this does not seem to be coming to fruition with the number of concerns building at the very top of the decision-making ladder.
This season is one of the most exciting for the last decade, with the Gers bidding to lift just their second title in the last 10 years, and should be a story that needs to be shared with the rest of the footballing world.
In other Rangers news, a major shake-up has been mooted by Gers and Celtic after what happened recently in the transfer market.
