Rangers: Philippe Clement will miss Borna Barisic more than he will know as exit news emerges
Rangers manager Philippe Clement has done a fantastic job in his brief time in the Ibrox dugout so far.
The boss has built a superb squad that until recently was fighting on all fronts, having already won the League Cup.
The Gers remain in contention for the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup, but are out of the Europa League after their round of 16 loss to Benfica.
Key to their recent success has been a talented squad, with Clement afforded the luxury of chopping and changing his XI.
And left-back Borna Barisic has been one such player involved in that rotation, coming in and out for Ridvan Yilmaz.
It is, however, the latter that has been favoured more by the manager, with the Turkey defender seemingly the number one left-back at Ibrox.
Perhaps that situation has forced Barisic into an exit decision, with the Croatian having already agreed a free transfer to Trabzonspor as soon as the summer transfer window opens.
Borna Barisic set to exit Rangers this summer
Given that his contract is expiring, his impending exit is perhaps unsurprising, but that does not mean that he will not be missed by Clement.
The 31-year-old boasts 230 appearances for the Scottish giants, in which he has scored 10 goals and registered 54 assists [Transfermarkt].

In the Scottish Premiership this season alone, when given the chance, the left-back has played a part in five clean sheets, has recovered 3.3 balls per game, made 1.6 clearances per game and 1.5 tackles per game, with his passing accuracy at 79% [Sofascore].
In other Rangers news, Clement’s anger is set to grow further as a former Premier League referee lays out a ruling after the Dens Park controversy.
