Rangers: Authorities urged to change after ‘Annoying’ Ibrox costs emerges

Dan Plumley has urged the authorities to take better action after Rangers saw their Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee postponed at the last moment.

The Bears had already arrived at Dens Park when the announcement was made on 17 March, leading to “annoying” costs for the Ibrox club, with the game now rearranged for 10 April.

The football finance expert admitted that you cannot help the weather, but you can always make decisions earlier to help prevent issues like the above for players and fans.

“I think you can’t change it and the costs are annoying in that regard,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.

“I guess one thing that we could look at with the relative authorities in that regard is to make these decisions much earlier, even if there is a percentage chance.

Calling games off really late when teams are already there, Rangers had already turned up, you’ve got the fans’ side of things as well.

You can’t avoid the weather, and we know that Scottish football will continue to have issues in that regard which is unavoidable, but what is avoidable is the timing of the decision and I think if there is any doubt and it’s on the border, then we can perhaps be calling these games off sooner.

That may then save some of the hassle and maybe the cost as well.”

Rangers hit by annoying extra costs at Ibrox

Dundee being threatened with fines due to this not being their first postponement of the season shows that something more has to be done.

That does not help Rangers at all, who will be forced to pay for travel to the rearranged game yet again on April 10, as will their fans.

In other Rangers news, the club are set to bank a significant windfall as a multi-million transfer update has emerged recently.
