Rangers: SPFL punishment now on cards after Dundee developments
Dundee face being disciplined by the SPFL after their clash with Rangers on 17 March was postponed due to the state of the pitch at Dens Park, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported via its print edition [19 March, back page] that, after the Rangers game was the fourth to be postponed this season, the club are set to be hammered.
That punishment would come as a result of the rule that each club must ensure the field of play is in good condition and equipped with an effective drainage system.
Rangers face difficulties as a result of Dundee postponement
As a result of the weekend’s game having been postponed, Chris Jack predicted that the game will have to be played in the week ahead of the next Old Firm derby, or the away trip to Ross County, which could prove difficult for them.
Chris Sutton, meanwhile, claimed that having to postpone games so shortly before kickoff in the top tier of Scottish football is an embarrassment, insisting that it was humiliating and wouldn’t happen in any other top league in Europe.
With the title race so hotly contested this season, Philippe Clement would have hoped to have a week to prepare ahead of the next Old Firm clash, but if the Dundee game is thrown in mid-week, their preparations could be impacted.

Another possible blow to their title challenge comes from the fact that, due to having played one more game, Celtic have jumped back to the top of the league, and Rangers will now be playing catchup once more with the pressure rising.
In other Rangers news, Chris Jack named nine players who could leave Ibrox this summer.
