Rangers injury news: Doctor issues Todd Cantwell update post Benfica bow

Rangers attacking midfielder Todd Cantwell is at risk of re-injury post his hamstring setback, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the international break has come at the wrong time for him as he would look to return to a 100 per cent.

The 26-year-old was ruled out for a month with a Grade 2 hamstring injury.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

This looked like a Grade 2 hamstring injury, at minimum, based on the games he had missed.

He was out for almost a month so it will take time for him to return to 100 per cent.

He featured for 17 minutes off the bench in mid-week but the international break has not come at the right time for him and there’s always the risk of re-injury.

Cantwell likely to be a first-team regular soon for Rangers

Cantwell played 17 minutes in the 1-0 defeat against Benfica and he will be looking to be a regular starter under Philippe Clement.

He has made 17 league starts this season and another five appearances off the bench for Gers.
