Rangers transfer news as Nils Koppen jets out of Scotland in new development

Rangers director of football recruitment Nils Koppen has jetted out to Italy for a TransferRoom summit.

That is according to Glasgow World, with the publication reporting on its website on Monday (18 March) that the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United will also have representatives at the event.

Glasgow World added that the summit, which brings together 300 clubs and over 50 agencies from around the world, is taking place in Rome on Monday and Tuesday (19 March).

Will Rangers unofficially start their summer transfer business?

The event in Rome will certainly see some of the very biggest clubs in world football come together to start organising their transfer business for the summer window.

Perhaps Rangers have already kicked things off in this area, but the summit is now a fantastic opportunity to really get the ball rolling.

And the Ibrox club could certainly do with some organisation when it comes to recruitment, which is an area that the Gers have often struggled with.

Former manager Michael Beale was tasked with doing it all himself last summer, as he brought nine new faces to Ibrox and lost the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

But the ship has been steadied under manager Philippe Clement, who recruited Fabio Silva, Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande in his first window in January.

It remains to be seen what the plan is with those three loan signings, but a summer shake-up is definitely on the cards once more at Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, an Abdallah Sima injury “Godsend” is on the cards versus Celtic as Cyriel Dessers is panned at Ibrox.
