Rangers injury news: Doctor issues Dujon Sterling training update

Rangers defender Dujon Sterling is expected to return to full first-team training imminently, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that it could even be a Grade 2 hamstring setback and it depends on how he responds to physiotherapy as he aims to return to full fitness.

He played 34 minutes against Hibs on 10 March but missed the second leg against Benfica.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“This is a Grade 1 or maybe even a low Grade 2 hamstring injury.

“We should see him return to more sport-specific actions this week or so depending on how he responds to treatment and physio.

“There should be imminent updates from the club over his fitness and he could be back in time for next weekend.”

Sterling has been the utility man for Rangers

Sterling has made 14 league appearances this season for Gers, but only six of them have been from the opening whistle.

He’s played as a left-back, central midfielder and even on the wings – offering much-needed versatility to Philippe Clement.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement
Philippe Clement has overseen an excellent turnaround at Rangers.

His only goal for the club has come in the UEFA Europa League when he found the back of the net against Benfica in the first leg.
