Rangers: Doctor shares Oscar Cortes injury claim post surgery

Rangers attacker Oscar Cortes is unlikely to return to full first-team training until May at the earliest, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the fact that he’s had surgery means he’ll be out for months rather than weeks.

Philippe Clement confirmed on 6 March that he will be out for the long term without giving a specific timeline.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “Difficult to give a best or worst case scenario because there are no specifics on the region of injury.

“Considering he’s had surgery, I imagine that looks more like months out than weeks.

It sounds like a re-injury so there’s always the possibility of re-injury when returning, just part of the risk.

“I do not see him returning to full training until early May at the earliest.”

Cortes injury is a big blow for Rangers and Clement

Cortes only moved to Ibrox in January and looked like he was adapting to life as a Rangers player well.

He was even given a warm reception from the fans as he made his debut and Clement surely will be missing his services.
