Rangers: Disrespectful slap in the face verdict emerges amid Dundee controversy
Bill Leckie has torn into Dundee with the way they handled the controversy which led to the postponement of the Rangers clash.
Writing in his column in the Scottish Sun (17 March), Leckie has called on Dundee to be more professional in what was one of their biggest home games of the season.
He also believes that this reflects poorly on Tony Docherty and the entire club as a whole.
“They’re clearly not dealing with a glaring issue that’s turning them into a laughing stock.
“First and foremost, that’s a slap in the face to manager Tony Docherty and a team who are still fighting for a top-six finish and who would have gone into this one full of confidence and momentum after beating Aberdeen in midweek.
“Secondly, if it’s true that no one at Dundee contacted Rangers to tell them the game was in doubt, then that’s as unprofessional as it is disrespectful.
“Thirdly, it’s yet another financial boot where it hurts for a club that can ill afford it.”
Rangers cannot let Dundee get away with this yet again
Gers have every reason to feel aggrieved by the postponement of their game against Dundee due to the condition of the pitch, highlighting the unprofessionalism of the situation.
The repeated failure to adequately maintain the pitch, resulting in multiple cancellations throughout the season, reflects poorly on Dundee’s management and organisation.
This incident not only disrupts Rangers’ schedule but also impacts their preparation, travel arrangements, and potential revenue generation.
Furthermore, the lack of communication from Dundee to inform their opponents on the day about the doubt surrounding the game is deeply disrespectful and demonstrates a disregard for professional courtesy.
The financial implications for both clubs, including lost ticket revenue, television income and hospitality earnings, underscore the severity of Dundee’s negligence.
The situation reflects poorly on Dundee’s management and their ability to fulfil their obligations as a professional football club.

Such recurring incidents undermine the integrity of the league and tarnish the reputation of Scottish football as a whole.
