Rangers: Chris Jack names nine players who could leave Ibrox this summer

Chris Jack has named nine Rangers players who could leave Ibrox in the summer transfer window, including the likes of Ben Davies and Borna Barisic.

Alongside the defensive pair, Jack listed Kemar Roofe, Ryan Jack, Jon McLaughlin, Scott Wright, Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Nicolas Raskin as potential departures.

With several players out of contract this summer, and others falling out of favour under Philippe Clement, it could be another busy summer in Glasgow.

Speaking on The Rangers Review [18 March], Jack explained: “I know there was talk about Barisic last week, I would be surprised if he stayed on. Ryan Jack, I’d be surprised, he’d fall into the Kemar Roofe category. Obviously McLaughlin, time to move on.

“Then you look at under-contract guys who are on the fringes. The likes of Scott Wright perhaps. Ben Davies, can you reinvest the money? Dessers, what do you decide to do there? Lammers, can you cut your losses?

“Even guys like Raskin fall into that conversation as well, so it’s shaping up to be an interesting summer, but as I say, there’s plenty of football to be played before that and some big prizes to win first.”

Huge Ibrox clearout on cards at Rangers this summer

Last summer’s transfer window at Ibrox was billed as the big refresh, with a new manager bringing in his players to suit his style and take Rangers to the next level, freshening up the squad with exciting players to help the club progress.

Now, not even a year later, yet another rebuild is on the cards. Michaele Beale was promptly sacked as the majority of his summer signings failed to live up to their billing, and the ones that haven’t already left are expected to be cleared this summer.

The board must find a way to balance the total control given the Beale and the lack of control afforded to Gio van Bronckhorst to find the best way to support Clement’s vision. The arrival of Nils Koppen as the director of football was a huge step towards that.

With contracts set to expire, the boss will be given an easy route to ease wage concerns and create space in his squad, with other exits likely to raise money for what will hopefully be a smarter, more structured investment.
