Rangers: Chelsea mocked as Dujon Sterling admission made after what happened today

David Edgar has mocked Raheem Sterling after what he did for Chelsea as he made a Rangers admission.

The Heart and Hand Podcast host tweeted on Sunday (17 March) that the English Premier League side had sold the Gers the wrong Sterling after the England international missed a penalty in his side’s FA Cup game against Leicester City on Sunday.

Edgar made the remark after Blues academy product Dujon Sterling was allowed to make the switch to Ibrox on a free transfer from the Stamford Bridge last summer.

It was a pretty poor penalty from Sterling as he hit a tame effort straight down the middle at a comfortable height for the Leicester keeper to save it.

It probably didn’t help the winger’s chances of earning his place back in the England setup after he joined Rangers keeper Jack Butland on missing out on being named in the latest squad.

His namesake, however, has been in fine form for the Gers lately after putting in some excellent performances to force his way into Philippe Clement’s side.

The versatile player, who has featured at right-back, in midfield or even on the right wing lately, has proven his worth at Ibrox and was perhaps a miss when he sat out the defeat against Benfica on Thursday (14 March) through injury.

But he’ll be hoping to return after the two-week break to continue putting in some promising displays to help the Light Blues compete for more trophies this season.
