Rangers transfer news: Borna Barisic reaches agreement in principle to quit Ibrox within weeks
Borna Barisic has reached an agreement in principle to quit Rangers and join Trabzonspor when his contract expires in the summer, according to Kontraspor.
The Turkish news outlet reported on its website on Thursday (14 March) that the Super Lig club recently established contact with the Croatian international again after he had previously been on their radar.
This development means the 31-year-old left-back has less than 16 weeks to go before he will make an emotional departure from the Gers when his deal expires on 1 July after spending the past six years at Ibrox.
Borna Barisic closes in on Rangers exit
It appears inevitable that Barisic will now be leaving Rangers in the summer after the latest development has emerged in his move to Trabzonspor.
The Turkish club are clearly admirers of the left-back after renewing their interest in him following their previously failed attempts to land a deal for him.
There is no questioning the commitment the Croatian has shown the Gers since he joined the club from Osijek in 2018.

He’s made 230 appearances in the Light Blues shirt during that time, having scored 10 goals and laid on 54 assists with his pinpoint delivery from out wide.
The defender will no doubt still have a role to play over the next few weeks, but once his deal finally does expire, everyone associated with the club will no doubt wish him well in the future.
