Rangers: Photo emerges indicating behind-the-scenes appointment has been made at Ibrox
Four Lads Had A Dream has shared a photo suggesting James Fowler has been appointed in a behind-the-scenes role at Rangers.
The Gers news source tweeted on Thursday (14 March) a picture from the former Kilmarnock player’s personal LinkedIn page, where his job title refers to him as being Head of Academy Scouting and Recruitment at Ibrox.
It comes after the Daily Record reported on its website on 22 January that the 43-year-old was the frontrunner to land the role following a flurry of appointments from the Light Blues over the past few months.
James Fowler appears to have joined Rangers
There hasn’t been any official confirmation of Fowler joining Rangers yet, but his job title on LinkedIn clearly suggests he has made the move to Ibrox.
The Daily Record previously reported that the ex-Kilmarnock man was wanted by the Gers to spearhead their academy signings following a recent restructuring at the club.
He has vast experience in the game, having played for Killie more than 400 times across his career before taking on the role of caretaker manager at Rugby Park on a couple of occasions.
His arrival in Glasgow comes at a time when the Light Blues are looking to revamp the way they bring players through – and into – their academy after experiencing little success with homegrown talents in recent years.
After the club have made a number of appointments in terms of recruitment in recent months, Fowler will have plenty of people working alongside him to ensure quality youngsters are brought through the door.
