Rangers: Robby McCrorie must force Ibrox exit as soon as possible amid Scotland development
Rangers have had a mixed time with their recent recruitment, with not all players hitting the ground running upon their moves to Ibrox.
But one player who has absolutely shone is goalkeeper Jack Butland, with the number one taking over the reins from Allan McGregor expertly.
At one point, however, it looked as though it would be Robby McCrorie to take over in that role, with the goalkeeper getting plenty of minutes in the latter stage of last season.
But he has since been demoted to a deputy position at Ibrox, with McCrorie making just one appearance in all competitions so far this season.
That arrived in the 4-1 Scottish Cup win over Dumbarton back in January, with the shot-stopper not seen in Rangers colours since.
And the goalkeeper’s international progress has now taken a huge hit due to his lack of time on the pitch, with Scotland manager Steve Clarke not including him in his latest squad.
His absence is made even more disappointing by the fact that the man in the dugout has named four goalkeepers in his squad to take on the Netherlands and Northern Ireland in this month’s friendlies.
As per the official Scottish FA website (12 March), Hearts duo Craig Gordon and Zander Clark have been given the nod, alongside Norwich City’s Angus Gunn and Motherwell’s Liam Kelly.
Rangers ace Robby McCrorie misses out on Scotland squad
McCrorie has made the senior squad before, but his international career has now taken a step back, with the player undoubtedly needing regular playing time in order to make it back into the squad.

And that will only come with an Ibrox exit, with Butland very much the number one under Philippe Clement.
In other Rangers news, a Gers debut is surely close for one youngster as a Borna Barisic competition claim is made.
