Rangers: Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil argue live on talkSPORT after Scottish Cup draw

Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil have argued live on talkSPORT after the Scottish Cup draw was made, with Rangers drawing Hearts and Celtic drawing Aberdeen.

The Ibrox legend teased that we would be looking at a repeat of the Scottish League Cup between Rangers and Aberdeen, with Celtic to miss out.

Brazil then went as far as referring to Hearts as “Rangers reserves” as he assessed that Philippe Clement’s side are essentially already in the final, although he predicted Celtic to lift the trophy.

Speaking live on talkSPORT [12 March, 07:12], Brazil joked: “Don’t you worry about it, green and white ribbons on the cup, again. Rangers are going to get there, you’ve got Rangers reserves, haven’t you? You’re going to get there, that’s for sure.”

McCoist then jabbed: “I think you’re looking at a similar cup final to the League Cup final. He’s worried, he’s worried.”

Scottish Cup draw made as Rangers prepare to face Hearts

McCoist and Brazil teased each other as ever, but should the two semi-finals go the way of the favourites, another Old Firm Scottish Cup final could be on the cards, which will prove an intense affair given how close the teams have been this season.

The SPFL title race is heating up with the teams currently separated by two points, knowing one slip could allow the other one to advance towards the title. With the league on the line, and potentially the Scottish Cup, things are getting tight.

Hearts boss Steven Naismith has already been bullish about his side’s chances, insisting they have enough to remain competitive against Rangers with their ultimate ambition to reach the final and win the trophy, with his players hungry for glory.

Clement, however, will be hoping for a repeat of the League Cup semi-final where his side defeated Hearts 3-1 on the way to claiming the trophy against Aberdeen at Hampden Park. A repeat of that would be perfect.

In other Rangers news, Graeme Souness was wowed by what he heard from Clement.
